Bublavy pramen

From the Bublavy pramen, the next stop will be the Kazatelny - both rock formations and the peak of the same name (925 m above sea level). You will continue along the forest road, and through a beautiful forest. A significant elevation gain will lead to the top.

Kazatelny during the parades of the Hussites

These are relatively inconspicuous rock formations that are in close proximity to the yellow tourist sign. The Kazatelny (pulpits) consist of a total of 6 isolated rocks built of layered quartzite of Devonian age with an admixture of graphite. The rocks are said to owe their name to the Hussites, who used the top platform of one of the rocks as a pulpit during their graceful rides. The largest of the rock outcrops reaches a height of up to 8 meters, a length of 5 to 7 meters and a width of about 5 meters.

Route to the top of the Kazatelny (925 m above sea level)

From the top of the Kazatelny, the route continues to the signpost U Jestrabi chaty, around the Russian cemetery, to Opavska cottage. From the Opava cottage signpost, you will continue along the green tourist sign, towards Koberstejn castle.

Don't forget to turn right behind Jestrabi cottage, or as soon as you cross Černá Opava, along the forest path to the Russian cemetery!

From the Opavska chata signpost, you will continue along the road again. And all the way to the Strane signpost, from where you will go along the so-called Slidovy vrch to the Jeleni cesta signpost. The route leads through a fairytale forest, past rock formations and a view of Rejviz and Predni Jestrabi (868 m above sea level).

From the Jeleni cesta signpost, you will then head to the top of Zamecky vrch (934 m above sea level), where the ruins of Koberstejn castle are already located. Here you will have an elevation gain of 80 meters over a distance of 800 meters.

Steep hill to Zamecky vrch

As soon as you climb the top of Zamecky vrch, a short journey down the hill awaits you, where the ruins of the castle peek out at you from the forest. You can approach the castle and then climb the ladder.

According to archaeological findings, Koberstejn was built at the end of the 13th century. The castle probably guarded the provincial path between Zlate Hory and Vrbno, and the former merchant route along Cerna Opava.

The Headless Black Knight and the Mysterious White Lady

The legend tells of a headless black knight who still wanders around the ruins of the castle. It should be the knight Waldemar - a robber who ravaged and terrified the whole region. Once he attacked and kidnapped the daughter of a knight from Vrbno. Her father did not tolerate this and set out with his retinue to chase Waldemar.

They ran into him in front of Koberstejn, where a duel took place. The knight Waldemar pierced the heart of the knight of Vrbno and his companions drove the armed men to flight. Waldemar dragged the poor girl to his castle.

The knight's soul did not find peace after death and is said to appear in the form of a black phantom to this day. But he is not alone there! The kidnapped girl could not bear the sight of the suffering of innocent people thrown into the abyss or locked up in the dungeon, and jumped off the castle rock. Since then, she has been returning to Koberstejn as the White Lady and waiting for liberation.

The ladder is in a state of disrepair and is often slippery. Please be extra careful when climbing.

Little men playing skittles

The castle is also associated with a legend about three nobly dressed little men playing skittles in the ruins. The phenomenon is said to occur at exactly twelve o'clock. However, one day they were spotted by local cowherds. The little men invited them to build skittles for them. The bowling alley is said to have been made of pure gold and gray skittles and the queen of blue lead. For building, the little men gave them one gold coin after each game. After the game, the little men disappeared in the strong wind. When the herdsmen returned home, they found their cows well cared for.

From Koberstejn we will go back to Rejviz, or first to Stary Rejviz. The route will continue along the green tourist sign to the signpost Pod Koberstejnem. Here you will find a steep, almost kilometer downhill path.

Turn right towards Stary Rejviz

The road to Stary Rejviz will lead through a forest road, where the defunct Wurzl's mill is located. Then over the bridge, through which the Cerna Opava flows, and then under the Lurdska Cave.
