⚠️ Warning! Winter conditions in the mountains do not ease even in May. There is 10–30 cm of snow on the ridges.
Trasa začíná na parkovišti v Areálu Kouty v Koutech nad Desnou. Zde můžete ponechat své auto a vydat se na trasu.
From the car park, head towards the ticket offices, which you will bypass from the back, and then across the bridge.
After the bridge, turn left and then up the stairs to the children's park, which you will go around from the right side and go to the Obraz ski lift, where the skialp route begins.
At the beginning of the ski lift, cross the ski slope to the opposite forest, where you will continue along the red hiking trail.
You should not meet any skiers in the forest, but still be careful. You will walk a route of about a kilometer with an elevation gain of less than 190 meters.
Then you will appear just below the ski slope, which you will cross to the other side, i.e. to go up on the right side, and you will continue to the signpost U obrazku.
In front of you is a relatively steep hill, the so-called Dlouhy vrch, but the distance and elevation gain is relatively the same as the previous hike through the forest.
At the end of Dlouhy vrch, you will walk only 100 meters towards the lookout tower, where the Rysi skala Nature Trail begins.
From the lookout tower, you will continue along the green marked nature trail, into the forest, which will take you to the Tetrevi chata signpost, where you will cross the road, towards the wind turbine, and continue through the forest.
Gradually, you will walk only half a kilometer, over the top of Medvedi hora (1163 m above sea level), until you reach the Rysi skala viewpoint, where there are beautiful views of Praded (1491 m above sea level), Dlouhe strane (1354 m above sea level) and the valley of the Borovy brook. You can also rest in shelters.
The nature trail is based on the story of a stray lynx with its cubs, who find shelter at the top of Medvedi hora. The story, which features forest elves, fairy-tale creatures and the ruler of the Praded mountains, is told in a comic book form on boards at each stop with information about the surrounding nature.
Then you will continue along the nature trail, i.e. from the shelters to the right. The path will take you back to the lookout tower.
